Check out this beautiful Bike, its for our client in Austria, it is really something different and very individual, anodized Blue with anodized Gold parts, wicked….

I took the two Bikes out for a Test right with my Girlfriend to one of the nice Brandenburg lakes, we were both of the opinion,

that riding a GRACE in 33 degree celcius summer weather is one of the coolest things to be done on this planet at this moment:-)

On this Track with 72 meters of altitude difference, theoretically I would have done 34 km with the 10,4 AH on Board.

This Result was almost without pedaling in a quite strong wind in one direction.

First of all, the current was limited to 15 Amps, I used Google Maps My Tracks to track the Test.

I stopped a lot, to check details on the bike, so I always used a lot of Energy to get back on Track.

Also I did a 187 Meters in height. The average speed was 31.81 km/h that is due to the many stops.

Once the Bike was rolling, it was constantly running between 40-45 km/h, only the last 2 km below 38 Volts, it went down

to about 35km/h.

The Biketrack is in my local forest, so I had to brake a lot for barriers and other bikers.

I will do another test next week, with another bike. We want to deliver the Bikes new and not used,

but one Test we now always do before delivery:-)

I guess with no stops and 12 Amps, I will do 34-36 km with this Frame and Setup, so with the maximum Setup on the Raceframe, our 40km Range from the November launch is very precise.

So that is the scope:

We had one new thought when we went on the test drives with the first black GRACE ever build: This is really comparable to a super sports car like a Lamborghini Murcielago, why? Because we choose every component with no compromise, everything is perfect, and for most of the parts we could not build it any better. It is an amazing feeling, and sorry folks, if you think 7000 Euros is to expensive, since yesterday my opinion is really different, for this money you can own the first super-ebike. Own an electric 2wheel Lambo for 7k, I think that is a cool deal:-)

The first 2 Bikes we build in Lübbrechtsen at the Nicolai Production place. The next 16 we will build at our company headquarter in Biesenthal.

The e-motorbikes will get a further very cool part, two fork blades in the colour of the Frame. Until we can produce our own fork, we are using now SRAM Rock Shox Domain Forks. SRAM can provide Worldwide Service, a perfect and reliable product, and we can order as many as we need in time. To integrate them better into the overall GRACE Design we decided to give the bike two forkblades, for better design integration and a better quality finish and the possibility to integrate front fenders on the bike for those clients that want to run fenders with their bike.

On the June 17, 2010 we finally founded the Grace GmbH & Co KG in Berlin. The company is based in Biesenthal north of Berlin. All Patents and Brand rights we previously in my private hands, the business was run via my company Inbalance GmbH. Now, with a growing Business all this will be run in the new cooperation.

What it Does

Once connected to the vehicle’s power bus, the Cycle Analyst calculates and shows the following information:

* Volts, Watts, Amps: The instantaneous electric power being drawn from the battery.
* Amp-Hours, Watt Hours: The net energy that has been pulled from the pack since the meter was reset. The accumulated amp-hours let you know the remaining energy in the battery pack with far greater accuracy than a voltage or LED indicator.
* Speed, Distance, Time: All of the basic features of a bicycle computer, including the average and maximum trip speeds, plus a total distance odometer.
* Regen, Wh/km: There are several quantities this meter will calculate that you don’t get with other instrumentation, such as the % extra range that was gained from regenerative braking, as well as the vehicle’s average energy use in Watt-hours per kilometer or mile.
* Peak Currents and Voltage Sag: Records the maximum forwards and regenerative currents as well as the minimum voltage on the battery pack.
* Total Battery Cycles and Amp-Hours: Retains life cycle information on the vehicle’s battery pack, such as how many charge and discharge cycles the pack has experienced and the total amp-hours that were delivered over its entire life.

Furthermore, the Cycle Analyst has the ability to over-ride the user’s throttle and regulate the power delivered to the motor, turning an otherwise dumb ebike into an intelligent device with a user programmable speed limit, current limit, and low voltage cutout.

* Speed Limit: This has the utility of providing legal compliance to the speed cap imposed on ebikes in most jurisdictions. When used with a full throttle, it serves as a cruise control on the electric bicycle. It can also be beneficial to riders who want to increase their torque and power by using a higher voltage battery, without simultaneously increasing their top-end speed.
* Current Limit: An adjustable amps limit is useful to prevent damage to the batteries from excessive current draw, to increase the range that you’ll get on a charge, and to protect the motor controller and motor in setups that draws too many amps.
* Voltage Cutout: A low voltage cutout is used to protect a battery pack from being discharged too deeply, which can cause cell reversals in NiMH/NiCad packs, permanent cell damage in Lithium packs, and sulfation in Lead Acid batteries. The programmable low voltage rollback allows you to set an appropriate low voltage point tailored to your pack.

*  Remote Shunt: Unlike the watt-meters and amp-hour meters designed for RC hobbyists, the Cycle Analyst uses a remote shunt for sensing current rather than running wire through the meter, so you do not need to route heavy gauge battery cables up to the handlebar and back.
* Backlit LCD: The display readout is well illuminated for night riding.
* Water Resistant: The circuitry is fully enclosed in a sealed box enabling it to withstand exposure to wet and rainy conditions.
* Handlebar Mounting: Easily attaches to handlebar tubes from 7/8″ to 1 ¼” diameter with included hardware.
* Save on Power Down: Trip data such as amp-hours and distance are saved when the meter is shut off, and are restored when power is re-applied.
* Fwd and Negative Amps: Both positive and negative amp-hours are displayed separately, so you can calculate accurate regenerative braking statistics or use it to monitor charging currents as well.
* Flexible Speed Input: Detects vehicle speed either with a magnet and sensor cable or through the hall effect signal on brushless motor controllers.
* Data Logging: Devices have a serial output stream that can be used for real-time recording the vehicle statistics to a computer or laptop.

Bronze Anodized before cleaning

This is for our London Client, a manufacturer of rare and very cool electric cars. A nice choice, wait for this bike to be assembled.

Just some shots about different clients combinations ordered, the white patina on the black frame is normal when it comes

fresh from anodizing, once they have been cleaned this is gone forever.

Thats the Bike for my Sister , Anne Hecken, she is a Goldsmith, and she will use it on Tradeshows to attract clients

Just check these two frames, I was not shure at first about the blue anodizing when our client form Vienna ordered it, but now its there and I think its very cool!!!

Have a look at the new beautiful frames hopefully I find some time tomorrow for a larger update.

All Systems running A.OK at the moment. All parts are arriving on time. Everything is fitting good so far.

From my perspective as I have been building the first bike myself with a few people, this is so much more spot on

and well engineered than the first Grace Prototype. Thursday is the next round with the TÜV Cologne, so this bike

has to be finished within 24h. Then we got 7 days to finish the other “famous GRACE 18″ e-motorbikes.

This is the second of the three GRACE company show bikes. Aircraft Grey powdercoated. Wait for this one with Black parts, I think it will be just perfect. But wait for the third show bike frame to arrive from anodizing:-)

Same story but a different part. These are probably the worlds first hand made anodized e-bike engines:-)

For days our CNC Mills were carving the Stem of the GRACE e-motorbike out of massive aluminium blocks. This is one of the most complex and expensive parts of our bike, and it houses many function in a small and compact piece of technology.

One of our first clients, will be super happy to get his Jägermeister Orange Bike very soon. If you are around in Berlin,

visit the speed-e.me shop on the Wallstrasse, in a few weeks this beauty will be ready for test driving.

Some clients have ordered two colour schemes on their Bikes, so this is the first result. Our own show Bike will be Black anodized with red parts, so I am super happy today about my choice. One client, a goldsmith, gets a complete golden bike:-)

Have a look at the rear dropouts, they are very different from the Prototype. The complete Backend of the Bike can betaken apart by a few screws only. Also the frame you see is our Universal Frame in Medium Size, this is also something for Women, we often had this as a criticism. Its looking very cool and compact now. I am glad I bought 3 bikes myself:-)

I am very excited, the first frame is in Colour, after two years of working, inventing and discussing on the aluminium prototype.

And the white looks the business. This is for one client in Southafrica who wanted a Race Frame with Powder Coat Pure white.

Wait for the Headset to be finished in the same colour, it will be super cool.

Its an e-motorbike and not an e-bike… This photo shows this more than any other photo. To integrate a 2000 Watt engine properly it just needs a very different physic as on a normal bike. It looks almost like a proper motorcycle part from a Kawasaki Racer than a bike part. Wait for this part to be anodized:-)

It might look easy, but this is the part that gave us by far the most headache. In order to fit this onto the standard crystalyte axis, we had a lot of work. This part consists of many small parts that were especially build for the GRACE Pro, its a very expensive part.The development alone costs a lot of money. So our clients can look forward to own the first electric bike with the proper 9 Speed Shimano/Sram compatible freewheel on the Planet. Please do not call us if we sell this seperate, its only for GRACE clients.

Most parts are standard in Black in the future. Black anodizing for us is easy, as we have a partner company around the corner,also parts in any size and weight can be anodized in black. All these parts can be anodized in a colour as well for an extra cost. Check the price list for details. My favorite is a black anodized frame with red anodized parts, wait for these pictures in two weeks.

OK, with a kid on Drugs after the dentist you can easily get millions of You Tube users, but with e-bikes its a bit different.

But our Video is the most frequently used product e-bike Video on Youtube at the moment. For us 100.000 is a great amount of people intrested in our product, and it shows us how much interest and potential there is in this new emerging market. Thanks to all you viewers!!. Just wait for September, then we have a nice surprise for all you Grace Video Fans:-)

A nice photo of our production. Half of our Frames are on this picture. You can see nicely the controller housing opening, without

the controller top closed. This opening will integrate the controller as well as one battery pack, the DC/DC converter and a lot of cables.

Check our new Wiring outlets, very nicely sitting underneath the crankshaft, so no ugly cables are running aside the Bike. Alsothis is a very important connection to get the bike waterproof. It took us quite a while to find this solution. Looks great doesn`t it?

*Grace00001* you all know from the Website, but did you all know, that this was the only bike we ever had build?

Now the number two is ready to go with 18 further bikes to follow. For Street Legal TÜV reasons, the series number has to be visible on the front Headset tube from the outside. We think it just looks super cool on an e-motorbike.

Even a standard seatpost we can not use. Because our tubes are 60 to 70mm in diameter we have to construct everything from

scratch. Not even constructing is the work, but also progamming the CNC Mills, and carving the seperate pieces afterwards. You can see with the seatpost its already 5 different parts.

Just one nice Part of the rear Wheel mounting, the Swingarm Hangers, fresh out of the CNC Carving Mill.

If you count right, ist 20 tubes, as we build 20 Frames, but we only got 18 Motors☺
Ist the lower tube with the controller housing frame. This opening is exactly 54mm wide, so one battery pack can be integrated into the lower tube. One day the controller will be smaller, as at the moment it has the size of a 3.5“ Harddrive, then we will be able to integrate 5 more packs inside Grace. On this Poto you can see that the Welding is just done with dots in the beginning, the final welding process is later when the entire Frame is beeing made.
